The powerful design of the octogonal case with multiple angles was originally created by the great Gerald Genta (his brand was acquired by Bvlgari in 2000). The Octo found its inspiration in the arches of the Basilica of Maxentius, located in the heart of the Roman Forum, a building considered as an engineering marvel of the time.
